This centre table is an important example of the detailed naturalistic marquetry work of the Florentine Falcini Brothers from the second quarter of the nineteenth century ; recalling the quality inlay of the 17th century Flemish born Leonardo van der Vinne.
Renowned for their elegant designs and superbly executed inlay work, the Falcini Brothers displayed their elegant furniture at the 1851 Crystal Palace Exhibition in London.
