Founded in 1994 by Torkild Malfait, Gallery TORKILD is internationally recognised for its expertise in European cabinets, fine furniture, and works of art from the 17th to the 20th century. Following professional training with Bernard Steinitz in Paris and studies in Art History at Christie's in London, Torkild Malfait has built a reputation for quality, authenticity, and scholarly knowledge. The gallery serves collectors, decorators, and institutions worldwide and offers a carefully curated selection of exceptional antique furniture and decorative arts.

Gallery TORKILD also operates its own restoration workshop, specialising in the conservation and restoration of fine furniture and precious materials such as tortoiseshell, marquetry, mother-of-pearl, gilding, and rare woods. All restoration work is carried out according to the highest professional and ethical standards. Torkild Malfait is a member of ROCAD (Belgian Royal Chamber of Art Dealers) and CINOA (International Confederation of Art and Antique Dealers' Associations).
