AN AUGSBURG EBONY & MOTHER OF PEARL CASKET
A nice Augsburg casket, veneered with ebony and mother of pearl ; partially engraved and gilded. The interior lined with blue velvet. All mother-of-pearl plaques engraved with hunting or hunted animals.
Augsburg, 17th century.
Very good condition.
Dimensions : 20,5 x 13 x 12 cm high.

-) This casket can be related to several items attributed to Ulrich Baumgartner, e.g. a chessboard sold by Christies Amsterdam, 20 nov 2012, lot 70 with almost identical engraved plaques.
